Police are appealing for information following a burglary in which some "distinctive items" were stolen.
The victim returned to their home in East Road, West Mersea, to find the rear patio doors had been jemmied open.
The goods stolen included a goat skin rug, bathroom cabinets, curtains, toaster, and some horse figurines, including one where the horse is standing on his hind legs, rearing up.
They also stole an iron patio set still in its box, which would have taken a few people to lift it.
The burglary happened between 2pm on November 17 and 12.50pm on November 21 and police would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious during these times, or who is offered these items for sale.
Anyone who can assist is urged to contact Dc Claire Jennings, or her colleagues at Colchester CID, on 101. Alternatively, call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
