Police are appealing for information following a burglary in which an antique ring was stolen.

Officers have released an image of the ring, worth a four figure sum, in the hope that someone might spot it and call police.

It was stolen from a house in Duck Street, Little Easton, between 10.45am and 12.35pm on November 13 after the front door was forced.

The pictured item is a marquise-shaped diamond cluster ring dating back to about 1900.

The thieves also took a four figure sum of cash in Euro’s and pounds sterling and other items of jewellery. In total the stolen goods are believed to be worth a five figure sum.

These included a gent’s gold ring with tiger’s eye design, a Tiffany Picasso bangle in hammered gold, a gold vintage Rolex watch, a rose gold, yellow gold and platinum Russian wedding ring, and a ring set with an aqua marine stone in the centre.

Investigating officer, Pc Victoria Butler, said: "It must have been devastating for this family to come home and find all this jewellery had been stolen. It’s not just the monetary value of the items, it’s the sentimental value that makes it so crushing to find that they are gone.

"I would really appeal for anyone who has information, or who may spot these items for sale, to get in touch with me.”
