More than 1000 tonnes of hay is still alight.
Three fire engines were sent to the blaze in Ambridge Road, Coggeshall, just before 4.45pm yesterday when the haystack, covering an area of 30 metres by 50 metres and is 10 metres tall, was 30% alight.
The haystack was completely alight this morning and is being allowed to burn itself out in a controlled fire, with one fire engine remaining to monitor the situation.
