HEALTH bosses say a doctor's surgery closed due to a possible case of Coronavirus will reopen later this morning.
The Mid Essex Clinical Commission Group has apologised to anyone affected by the closure of Mount Chambers surgery this morning but insists precautions were made to ensure the safety of staff and patients.
The surgery, which is in Coggeshall Road, Braintree, was advised to close after a patient at the surgery was said to have displayed symptoms of Coronavirus on Monday.
Tests have since revealed the patient does not have Coronavirus.
A spokesman for the CCG said: "Mount Chambers Surgery in Braintree was temporarily closed this morning to enable a clean of the surgery as a routine precautionary measure. The practice is due to reopen this morning and patients will be advised if their appointment needs to be rearranged.
"We apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused.
"Safety is our priority and we have been working with public health teams to make sure there is no risk to staff and patients."
The CCG says it is well prepared for a possible outbreak of the virus in mid Essex.
Anyone with concerns about Coronavirus is advised to visit the Public Health England website.
