A MAN has been arrested after armed police descended on a busy industrial estate in Braintree.
Witnesses saw armed officers in the area around Galleys Corner, just off the A120 and the busiest roundabout in Braintree, at around 3pm on Saturday.
The entrances to fast food restaurants McDonald's and KFC were blocked off during the incident, according to reports.
A man was arrested at the scene by Met police officers following an incident involving a firearm in Enfield on Friday.
A spokesman for the Met said: "Police were called at approximately 14:15hrs on Friday following reports of a man robbed in Bullsmoor Lane, Enfield.
"The victim reported seeing a firearm during the incident.
"On Saturday, a man was arrested by officers from Essex Police following a vehicle stop in Braintree, Essex. He remains in custody.
"Enquiries into the circumstances continue."
