HALF a dozen people were arrested in drugs raids this morning (February 11) in the Braintree district.
Three men, aged 39, 37 and 35, and three women, aged 31, 28 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
They remain in custody for questioning.
The arrests are part of an investigation into the supply of drugs in Braintree and Witham.
A spokesman said: “Drugs lines prey on vulnerable people and are linked to violence and exploitation.
“While the majority of residents will never be affected by gangs, these criminals are causing misery in some areas of our communities and we are determined to protect the most vulnerable people from harm.
“We can do this by working together as a community.
“If you are worried someone you know is involved in gangs and needs help, or you have information about drug dealing in your neighbourhood, tell us.”
Concerned residents are urged to get in touch by visiting essex.police.uk or calling 101.
