Despite his own personal interest, Witham Town boss Garry Kimble insists tomorrow’s Ryman League division one north game against Burnham Ramblers is just another game.
Ramblers are a club Kimble knows well as they were his first appointment in his managerial career, but it is another home win rather than any personal matter that he has his sights set on.
No-one has come to the Village Glass Stadium and taken three points off third-placed Witham this season and the Town manager wants to keep it that way.
He said: “There are a lot of people at Burnham who I know well and I’m sure will want to get one over on me, but we have to take it as a normal match.
“We just have to think that it’s another three points and we’ll be looking to keep our home run going in the league.
“If we perform as I know we can then we will get the right result, but Burnham have done ever so well in their first year in the league.
“We can’t under-estimate them.
“We have to be on it from the word go.
“To be fair there is still a long way to go, but we have games in hand at the moment and know that if we win them we will be just behind VCD.
“If we win our games in hand then I think we’ll have a chance of being in the play-offs.”
