LOAN players from Football League are expected to play a part in Braintree Town's Vanarama National League campaign this year, according to Iron manager Brad Quinton.
The Braintree boss knows his finances will be tight compared to most of their rivals in the division this year and he will have to be canny with his squad, so he admits that he will be looking to make use of the loan market to bolster his squad options.
It worked well for him last year in National League South when Diaz Wright had a major impact after coming in on loan from Colchester United and Quinton said he already had one exciting youngster on board.
Patrick Webber has returned to the Iron from Championship side Ipswich Town.
The 20-year-old full-back made three appearances for Braintree when on loan from the Blues last year and also featured for Ipswich when they faced the Iron in a pre-season encounter at Cressing Road.
Quinton said: “It’s still evolving and I’m looking to bring in more loans.
“We’ve got Pat Webber over the line so he’ll be a part of us next season and there’s another from Col U who we’re trying hard to get sorted as well.
“It’s important that we focus on our targets and we’ll see how it goes.
“People are being offered the chance to be part of this club and part of the Vanarama National League so we’ll see how it goes.
"Pat (Webber) will be a part of what we are doing.
“He was here with us briefly last year and we saw then that he’s a very good young talent.
“He has a good size about him, his stamina is excellent and he has a good composure on the ball.
“He is still learning the game, but I flourish on having players like that to work with and I’ll enjoy getting the best out of him.
“Coming to us will be better for him than playing under-23 football as it’s competitive and it’s a dream level to be playing at for young players like him."
The Iron are now waiting for Webber's loan move to be confirmed by the FA and the National League.
