JOHN O’Connor emerged as a clear winner of the men’s Stableford at Braintree Golf Club.
Playing off ten-handicap, he signed for 39 points, two ahead of another ten handicapper Bradley Smith.
There was a countback for third spot on 36 points with Jamie Crimmins (17) getting the verdict over Gary Judge (10).
The Saturday Stableford proved a closer affair with seven-handicap Angus Neilson taking the honours with 39 points.
He finished one point ahead of two rivals and after a countback David Clark (26) took second spot ahead of Peter Collins (23).
A further countback was needed to decide fourth place with Michael Orr (15) edging out Daniel Sharman (18) both with 37 points.
The Summer League Stableford week two required yet another countback after David Clark (26) and Graham Pinder (10) each returned 40 points with Clark getting the verdict.
One-handicap Martin Hawes finished third with 39 points and Scott Cashman (3) fourth with 38.
Debbie Blundell proved a runaway winner of the ladies’ Golf Foundation medal last week. Playing off 22, she returned a net 71, finishing four shots clear of the field.
Diana Reeve (20) took second spot with 75 while two players, Marian Ballard (30) and Gillian Barke (14) returned 76 and after a countback Ballard took third place.
There was a three-way countback for fifth on 78 which resulted in Shirley Jiggins (25) edging out Sue Anderson (26) and Susan Twyford (26).
Howard Plush was another clear winner in the Seniors’ rearranged Howard Robinson Order of Merit event.
Playing off a handicap of ten, he signed for 39 Stableford points, two ahead of the rest of a large field.
There was a countback for the runner-up places on 37 points with John Bell (26) taking second place ahead of Andrew Little (15) and Andrew Dodsley (8).
Andrew’s brother Simon Dodsley (9) was involved in a further countback for fifth edging out Robert Scott (11).
