ON the back of this summer’s success by the England women’s team - coupled with their support of football, the Respect Campaign and national teams over four decades - Nationwide Building Society is donating a further £50,000 this month to encourage even more female involvement in the national game across the UK.
Nationwide has asked all grassroots football clubs about the ways they are championing equality for the sexes in the game - with the top 50 entries receiving a Nationwide Mutual Respect Grant of £1,000 each.
Fifty clubs will be chosen by a panel of judges on the basis of what the club has done to increase mutual respect on or off the pitch and how the club is aiming to build equality for girls’ football.
It has been so inspiring watching The Lionesses this summer.
Their success will have encouraged thousands of even more girls across the UK to play football and enhanced more respect and participation for all.
Nationwide wants to help create more mutual respect for girls and women in football and these grants will be of great benefit across the whole of the UK.
Here’s where grassroots clubs across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland can find out more about the Nationwide Mutual Respect Campaign at www.nationwide-signyoursupport.co.uk
