ANGELO Harrop insists it is a good sign that his Braintree Town players were left frustrated by their goal-less home draw with Weymouth.
The Iron, who remain third in National League South after the draw, were aiming to follow up their 1-0 win at the Terras last weekend with another victory against the same opponents, at the Rare Breed Meat Co Stadium.
Braintree extended their fine unbeaten run to 14 matches with the draw but they were left frustrated that they were unable to grab a winner and put more pressure on second-placed Chelmsford City.
Iron boss Harrop told the Braintree Town YouTube channel: "Our team was a little bit off it tonight, which is going to happen.
"I've just said to them it's a good sign they're frustrated, they're upset in the dressing room - that shows they care.
"We haven't lost a game - we've drawn against a very, very good side that were on a good run before Saturday's game.
"I think it was a fair point in the end but what I like about our team is that we don't stop.
"We kept trying, we kept pushing and it was just one of those nights when it wouldn't go in.
"They had a few chances as well and it was probably a really exciting game for the neutral!
"The whole club is a bit gutted and frustrated but it's a good sign."
Braintree had their chances to claim victory against Weymouth, with substitute Jayden Davis twice going close late on.
But the Terras also had their chances, with Iron goalkeeper Jack Sims called into action on more than one occasion.
"We wanted a fast start," added Harrop.
"We went aggressive with the line-up and picked a very front foot, attacking team but we started slowly, for whatever reason I don't know.
"Maybe we were a bit leggy from Saturday in terms of the journey, maybe it took it out of them but we started a bit slow and then I felt that we got better, as the half went on, created some good chances and then in the second half, it was end to end football.
"They could have nicked it as well and I'm glad we just didn't lose it.
"When we're not playing as well, we still get a point and it's a good sign."
