Braintree Town new boy Jamie Guy has admitted having to sit out the start of the new season is a big blow.
Guy was forced to sit out Iron’s pre-season friendly with former club Colchester last weekend, which finished in a 0-0 draw.
The powerful forward, who celebrates his 23rd birthday on Sunday, admitted missing out on the start of the new Blue Square South season, which starts on August 14, is hard to take.
He told the Times: “It’s a blow because I was really looking forward to the start of the season.
“It wasn’t even a tackle; I just went up for a header and it was a bit of an uneven pitch.
“Looking on the bright side, it could have been worse but I’ll probably miss the first few games and then I’ll have to get fit again.
“I just want to get going really.”
